Send me an email that explains the following:
a.) The topic you would like to write your essay on. Give as many details as you can.
b.) Explain why you would like to write 5 pages on this topic. Give at least 2 reasons.
c.) Then, tell me everything that you already know about this topic. Explain where you learned this information from and how you came to learn about it.

1. Request Letter for Recommendation for Academic Purposes
This is very similar to the one that you wrote for the Employment Letter of Rec. The only thing that you are changing are the details about the academic purpose.

Hint: You may just copy the employment file and include the academic purpose.

2. Promise 2 kids Scholarship essay

Type a one-page, double-spaced, 12 pt. font essay covering the following:

· Brief personal description

o Identify yourself

o What are your best qualities?

o What are your interests?

· Include obstacles you overcame to pursue your education.

· What do you expect will be the best and most difficult aspect of college?

1. Scholarship listings:

Directions: Go on the internet and do research on different types of scholarships available to you. Fill in the Scholarship worksheet with scholarships that you would be interested in applying for.

2. Personal Statement- Prompt #2

Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

Directions: 1. On a word document retype the prompts accurately (like your interview questions) before you respond. 2. Create an outline to organize your answers to ALL of the questions in each prompt. 3. Each prompt should be a minimum of one page but not exceed two pages.

Prompt #1

10/10/11: Classwork/Homework

1. If you have not already made the copies you need to have your recommendation folder assembled, you must do so. If you do not know what needs to go in there reread the 10 tips worksheet(#4). I will check to see that you folder is complete. f
2. You must show proof that you know your social security # and have your ward of the court letter. (I WILL CHECK THIS ON WEDNESDAY)
3. You must begin your personal statements. The handout is with Mr. Tait along with all the handwriting and typing worksheets. I will check to see that you have started this.
4. If it is your time, you should be working with Mr. Orozco to complete a college application.
